The EV Storage Management app

The EV Storage Management app for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central offers a seamless solution for moving document files from Business Central to Microsoft Azure BLOB Storage (ABS) while still supporting the legal requirements for a country to have an official Microsoft backup of the posted documents.

EV Storage Management app for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central simplifies the process of moving files from Business Central to an outside of Business Central data storage and therefore keeping Business Central Online costs down.

Danish Bookkeeping Act (Den Nye Bogføringslov)

In countries like Denmark the New Bookkeeping Act requires most sales, purchasing and general ledger transactions to have an PDF document for audit attached to the posted transactions.

For many Business Central Online customers this means an additional license subscription fee to Microsoft every month to support the total size of all environments e.g., 1 production and 3 sandboxes or more. As the production environments are growing steadily in size, so is the total sum of environments and hence the additional subscription fee for every additional 100 GB needed.

Features

The following data sources are supported:

· Documents from the table Incoming Documents from standard document types including Journal, Sales Invoice, Sales Cr. Memo, Purchase Invoice, Purchase Credit Memo, Service Invoice and Service Credit Memo.

· Standard Business Central API v2 “Attachments” endpoint supported for returning documents saved in Incoming Document Attachments.

One of the key features of the app is that the user interface has not changed from standard. The user will not notice a UI difference. Fetching documents from Azure BLOB Storage takes 10-100 msec per attachment.

Setup is limited after a Microsoft Azure Storage Account has been created.

Microsoft Azure BLOB Storage is a secure, widely accepted and thoroughly tested stable storage of data external to the ERP system and other systems.
